How to Apply for China Visa? A Step-by-step Guide

China visa application process is majorly divided into two phases. The first phase involves registration and filling in the online visa application form.

The second phase involves the submission of your original passport and passport photographs. Following which, we will submit the application on your behalf and you will receive your China visa pasted to your passport within 10 working days. The processing time may vary and is dependent on the courier service.

Phase 1

  1. Visit www.blinkvisa.com
  2. Select the country and visa type, enter your email id, city, etc and click on the ‘Get Visa’ button
  3. You will be directed to the specific visa page of the country chosen
  4. Fill in the basic details like the number of applicants, tentative travel date, return date
  5. Make the payment of INR 500 and receive the complete visa fee as cashback
  6. Schedule an appointment for document pickup from your home

Phase 2

Apart from the original passport and two passport-sized photographs, the following are the essential requirements,

Additional documents:

  1. The original leave sanction certificate from your company (if employed)
  2. Pension payment certificate or six months’ bank statement as applicable
  3. In the case of student applicants – student id card along with bonafide certificates
  4. Copy of birth certificate in the case of infants and minors
  5. NOC letter from parents when the child is travelling alone
  6. When accompanied by a single parent, NOC from the non-accompanying parent

1. Do Indians residing in Hong Kong or Macau need a visa to China?

Hong Kong residents with a valid Hong Kong id card may apply for single-multiple entry 6 or 12 months visa. Non-permanent Macau residents may apply for a 6-months (validity) multiple-entry visa while the permanent residents may apply for a 12-months (validity) multiple-entry visa.

2. Is there a China visa on arrival?

Presently, there is no China visa on arrival. Nevertheless, it is granted in the case of emergencies only if;

  • you have an invitation letter issued by a government-approved sponsor or Chinese authorities
  • or have a confirmation from immigration authorities that the visa will be issued on arrival
  • when you have a government-approved sponsor meeting you at the airport

3. Where can I submit my duly filled China visa application form?

In India, there are three China Visa Application Centres in Mumbai, Kolkata, and New Delhi. However, these visa application centres courier your passport to either of the Chinese Embassies located in Mumbai and New Delhi.
