Over the years, the State of Qatar is progressively emerging as a popular tourist and business destination. The country’s charming allure, whether it is the souq or the inland sea or the fact that it has the world’s largest per capita income. Also, the Qatari government’s visa-waiver or Qatar visa on arrival, and a convenient eVisa facility may be the reasons for this huge influx of visitors.

Qatar Visa on Arrival vs. Qatar eVisa

In their endeavour to promote tourism and Qatar as a growing business destination, the Qatar government introduced visa-waivers for 30 and 90 days for select countries.

Apart from the visa-waiver, few countries, specifically of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have Freedom of Movement as well. Thus, below are the countries that have visa-waivers and freedom of movement in Qatar.

Why Qatar visa on arrival for Indians is not convenient?

For Indians, the visa on arrival enables a stay period of 30 days only. While others may extend their visa on arrival on payment of additional visa fee, it is non-extendable for Indians.

Moreover, one of the important conditions for Qatar visa on arrival for Indian passport holders is that even though they may have relatives living in Qatar, they still must provide proof of confirmed hotel reservation.

No Qatar business visa on arrival for Indians

Apart from the above-mentioned reasons, Indians cannot avail a visa on arrival for business visits. Also, it is not convenient when you are visiting friends or relatives staying in Qatar. Needless to say, the long queues at the immigration desk or the chances of refusing entry into the country are uncertainties you cannot take your chances with.

Important: There are also chances for the airlines (other than Qatar Airways) to refuse to board you without a Qatar visa.

Alternatives to visa on arrival

Opting for a visa in advance and travelling with a confirmed visa to Qatar will not only save your time but will also assure entry into the nation. Rather than gambling the probability of rejection of your visa on arrival, travelling with a pre-approved visa is a safer.

So, which is the other option? Qatar visa online is the solution here, which is not only convenient but is also time-saving. And, depending on the purpose of your visit, you can choose the following.
