How to Start a Secret chat on WhatsApp?
There are two ways,
1. Chat Lock
You can use the Chat Lock feature for an individual chat. So what happens when you enable this feature? This chat moves to Locked Chats, and it’s visible at the top of your normal chats. To access it, you will need a password.
To enable this option, open the respective chat > tap on the user’s name > scroll up to find Lock Chat > enable it using biometrics.
2. Secret Code
You can use a secret code to access your chats. So, how does it differ from Lock Chat? Well, you can see ‘Locked Chat’ above your normal chats. Although nobody can access it, they can clearly see that some chats are hidden behind it. With a secret code, you can hide these Locked Chats, and to access them, you have to type a secret code in the search bar.
To enable this option, first enable the Chat Lock feature as explained above. Tap on Locked Chats and provide your biometric. Go to settings (3 dots ) > Chat Lock settings> enable Hide Locked Chats > set a secret code. Now, to access these chats, type in the secret code in your search bar (the Home screen of WhatsApp). You can see the unlocking icon and then access your chats.
What if you forget your Secret Code?
If you forget your secret code, don’t worry. Follow these steps: Go to WhatsApp, tap on Settings > Privacy, scroll down to Chat Lock, tap on Unlock, and choose Clear All Chats. This will erase all chats and media from locked chats and remove the secret code.
