The following Act of the ~amil’Nadu Ggislative Assembly received the assent of
the Governor on the 5tb September 1996and is hereby published for general information:-
ACT No. 28 OF 1996.
An Act to alter the name of the City of hfadras.
RE it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Tamil Nadu in the
Forty-seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows :-
- (I) This Act may be called tlie City of Madras (Alteration of Name) Act, Short title an
