CHAPTER I
- (I)This Act may be called the Orissa Grains
Panchayats Act, 1964.

(2) It shall extend to the whole of t!le Stale of men’.
Orissa :
Provided that it shall not apply to any area
which has been or may be coilstituted hereafter as a
Municipality or a Notified Area under the provisions
of the Orissa Municipal Act, 1950 :
Provided further that when any local area is
excluded from a Municipality or a Notified Aretl
under the provisions of the said Municipal Act,
the provisions of tbis Act shall apply to such arca.
(3) It shall come into force at once. - Zn this Act, unless the context otherwiseD~fi,ili”:~~
requires-
(n) “Assembly Constituency” sk,aIl have the
same meaning as has bcen assigned to
it in the Representation of the People
Act, 1950 ;
and Zilla Parishad Act, 1959 ;
(b) “Block” nltans a Block constiluted under
(c)”building” indudes a hut, shed, house,
shop, warehouse, workshop or other
roofed structure for whatsoever purpose
and of whatever material constructed but
does not include a tent or other portable
or tcrnporary shelter;
