Singapore Visa Application:

One of the most important requirements for getting a Singapore visa is to make sure the application is submitted with all documents. But sometimes, either the visa agency forgets to tell you or you unknowingly commit a mistake to end up with a rejected visa.

Here, I shall explain the most common pitfalls I avoided during my Singapore visa application.

1. Presenting a damaged or invalid passport:

One of the main reasons for a Singapore visa rejection is the submission of an invalid passport. It is always essential to check the validity of your passport. Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months from the date of return date with two blank pages.

2. Possession of a valid Singapore visa already:

Applying for a Singapore visa in spite of having a valid Singapore visa will lead to rejection. There are times when people either ignore the time period or in case of one of my friends, she lost her visa copy in unforeseen circumstances and forgot about it. Hence, her visa got rejected.  In those cases, you will need to wait for your visa to expire.

3. Not following the visa rules strictly:

If a visa is usually granted for 30 days, don’t try to show a 45-day itinerary and ask for a 45-day visa. And Singapore does not provide Visa On Arrival to Indians, hence, you need to read the rules properly and apply.

For example, Singapore visit visa for India passport holders is 30 days. One of my friends applied for a Visa on Arrival on request through a fake visa agent. Naturally, the agency robbed her off around INR 5000 and the worst part was she didn’t get the visa too! Luckily, Blinkvisa was very specific in explaining to me the regulations and the way of applying for Singapore visa. I got my Singapore eVisa in just 5 working days.

4. Using false documents:

If you do not have documents as per consulate’s checklist then you would be required to give declaration for not having these documents. Moreover, in many cases, false documents or lack of documents may be the cause of your visa rejection.

For example, some Indian businessmen have shown false proof that they possess a service passport in order to get exempted from visa application. Not only will the visa get rejected but also you could be charged for a criminal offence.

The major documents you need for a Singapore tourist and business visa are:

  1. Passport photo Size 3.5 * 4.5 with Matt finish
  2. Personal covering letter explaining your travel for a tourist visa. In case of business visa, if self-employed – you need to present a cover letter on Business letterhead (Sample attached)
  3. Flight Tickets (Use Blink Wallet Cashback to get up to 25% discount on flights)
  4. Hotel Reservations if any (Use Blink Wallet Cashback to get up to 25% discount on hotel)

5. Showing an incomplete itinerary:

You need to show your entire travel plan dates when you are applying for a visa. Especially your inward and onward flight tickets.

For example, Indians can avail the 96-hour transit Singapore visa. There is no pre-approval for this kind of a visa, the only major requirement for getting this visa is to make sure you have you’re to and fro flight tickets.

For the best flight deals, you can approach Blinkvisa. With the 100% cashback, you can utilise that on your flight, hotel and tour activity bookings.
