Non-ordinary passports

Indians with a diplomatic passport and nationals of Brazil, China, Israel, Turkey, and Iran having a service and diplomatic passport can travel visa-free to Kenya.

Note: Uganda and Rwanda nationals can visit Kenya without a visa. However, they are required to furnish their identification cards (ID). Likewise, Kenyan nationals can visit Uganda and Rwanda respectively.

The validity of your Kenya transit visa is 90 days. You can use it to stay in Kenya for a period of 72 hours (up to three days). However, it is imperative to note that you may apply for a transit visa only when you have a layover in Kenya or when you need to leave the transit area in the airport. You may also need a Kenya transit visa when your connecting flight has a different PNR number from that of the flight you arrived in.

The following are the additional documents for a transit visa

  • Visa copy of the third country you are travelling to from Kenya
  • Round-trip confirmed tickets

Kenya e-visa photo specifications

  • 80% of your face must be covered in the frame
  • The photo dimensions are as follows – 35 x 45 mm
  • The photo must be taken against an all-white background
  • Have a neutral expression in the photograph
  • Avoid wearing spectacles
  • Ensure 80% of your face is visible if religious headgears are unavoidable
